5 Things Couples Regret Not Doing On Their Wedding Day

If you’re currently planning your wedding in Nottinghamshire (or anywhere in the UK), firstly - how exciting 🤍

Secondly…your wedding day will go by so quickly.

As a Nottinghamshire wedding photographer with over 10 years of experience capturing relaxed countryside weddings, I’ve seen what couples are so glad they did and what they wish they’d planned differently!

Here are five things to think about while planning your big day.

1. Not Leaving Enough Time In The Schedule

Timelines really matter. When your morning is rushed, it shows in your energy (and your photos). A calm, well-planned timeline allows for natural, relaxed wedding photography — especially during bridal prep.

2. Skipping Golden Hour Photos

Golden hour wedding photos are always worth it. Just 15 minutes of soft evening light can create the most beautiful, natural wedding portraits. If you’re having a countryside or barn wedding in Nottinghamshire, this light is unreal.

3. Not Taking A Breather Together

After the ceremony, everything speeds up. I always encourage couples to take five quiet minutes together. Those are often the most genuine and emotional moments I capture.

4. Forgetting To Eat (Yes, Really)

It sounds obvious, but nerves are real. Staying hydrated and eating something keeps you feeling your best — which helps you look relaxed and happy in your wedding photos.

5. Choosing Suppliers Based On Price Alone

Your wedding photographer is with you more than almost anyone else on the day. If you want natural wedding photography that feels honest and relaxed, it’s so important you feel comfortable with the person behind the camera.
